Thusharagiri in Kozhikode district on July 19 will witness the sixth edition of the world renowned Malabar Kayaking Festival. Various kayaking champions, India’s Kayakers’ community and Olympians will mark their presence.
With the support of Kerala Tourism and the Bengaluru-based Madras Fun Tools, the District Tourism Promotion Council will host this four day festival. Competitions will be held in categories such as Downriver, Boater Cross and Slalom. The festival concludes with the selection of a Rapid Raja and Rapid Rani.
A peculiarity of this year’s event is live streaming. An enthusiastic film crew from Germany and France will do the live streaming of the competition on social media. Mr. Olaf Obsommer, award-winning film-maker, is expected to lead the German crew.
